Upgrading Zoom for Windows

This section describes the procedure to upgrade the Zoom client for Release 8.0 or later, if you are using Windows.

Before you begin

See Upgrading Zoom Client for information about upgrading the Zoom client for prior releases.

Prerequisites

You must uninstall the Zoom client from your system and then install the latest version of the Zoom client.
Note: Perform this procedure if you are not using the “EZ Updater” for Zoom.

Uninstall

  1. Go to Start > Control Panel
  2. Click Programs and Features. The “Uninstall or change a program” window appears. 
  3. Search for and select Evolphin Zoom DAM Client from the list of programs.
  4. Click Uninstall. If you are prompted to confirm this action. Click Yes to continue.
  5. Complete the steps presented in the “Uninstall” wizard.
  6. You will be prompted to close related applications to finish the uninstall process. Click OK to do so. 
  7. When prompted to restart your system, click Yes to restart.

Install

  1. Download the latest build of the Zoom Client. If you do not have the latest version of Zoom, contact support for detailed information about all versions of Zoom that are available for download.
  2. Unzip the downloaded zipped file to extract its contents.
  3. Within the extracted contents, open the “Client” folder.
  4. Double-click setup.exe to run the executable file.
    Note: If your system displays a warning about running files from unknown publishers, choose to run the program anyway.
  5. When prompted to provide Administrator permissions to run this application, click Yes. The “Install” wizard opens.
  6. Complete the steps presented by the “Install” wizard.
  7. When prompted to restart your system, click Yes to restart.

Results

The Zoom Client is now being installed. This installation will complete with the restart of your system.

Post-install steps

After installation, you can verify if the current version of the Zoom client is the same as the server. To do so:

  1. Click the Evolphin icon to open the menu. 
  2. Click About Zoom.
  3. The “Evolphin Zoom Client” dialog displays the version number of the Zoom client that is currently installed.
