Complete Checkpointing and Stop Zoom and Preview Services

  1. In Windows Services, restart the Zoom Service. Wait till the checkpoint gets completed. If there is a lot of of data to be checkpointed, it will take some time to complete. You can confirm that checkpoint is completed when the zoom admin console (ex: zmserver:8443) becomes accessible. Alternatively, you can check the server_log and see that the “checkpoint started” and “checkpoint ended” messages appear in the entries after restart.
  2. In Windows Services, stop the Zoom Server and Zoom Preview Server services.
    1. For information on how to stop, start & restart, refer to Starting and Stopping Zoom Services (Windows)
  3. After zoom server is stopped, please make sure to backup your Zoom installation and database as referred to in Backing Up Zoom.

Take a Backup of current database and configuration files

Ensure that the new zoom backup files are located outside of the Zoom install directory.
  1. Navigate to the Zoom install directory. On Windows, this is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM.
  2. Copy or backup the conf folder.
  3. Copy or backup the db folder.
  4. If the redo location is different, and not inside the db directory, then that also needs to be backed up.
    1. The redo location is specified in the <dbspec> <redoLogDir> xml tag inside the server.xml file in the conf folder.
    2. By default, the redo location is within the db folder itself.
  5. Move or backup the “webcontext\servers\PreviewServer\cache” folder, if present, to outside the DAM folder.
If your db folder is located in an alternate location, It is not necessary needed to backup the db folder.  However, we still recommend that you keep an alternate backup.
