Configuring Preview Server

on Zoom Server

Set Location of Preview Cache

The default location for the preview cache is:

OS Path
Linux [ZoomDir]/webcontext/servers/PreviewServer/cache
Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM\webcontext\servers\PreviewServer\cache

You can change the location of the Preview Cache by performing the following actions:

  1. Make sure that your Zoom Preview Server service is stopped.
  2. On the Zoom Server, navigate to
    OS Path Linux [ZoomDir]/conf Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM\conf\
  3. Open the preview-server.xml file.
    If this is a fresh install of Windows Server, it is recommended to use an alternative text editor such as Notepad++ for editing the text files. It makes reading the configuration files more legible.
  4. Under the tag <previewCacheLocation>, set the path to your preferred preview cache location.
    If you do not see the preview cache tag in your preview-server.xml file, add the tag underneath <webminHostPort>.
  5. Save and close preview-server.xml file.
  6. Start the Zoom Preview Server service.

Setting Cache Cleaning Rules

Set Clean Based on Time

  1. Make sure that your Zoom Preview Server service is stopped.
  2. On the Zoom Servernavigate to
    OS Path Linux [ZoomDir]/conf Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM\conf\
  3. Open the preview-server.xml file.
    If this is a fresh install of Windows Server, it is recommended to use an alternative text editor such as Notepad++ for editing the text files. It makes reading the configuration files more legible.
  4. Navigate to the <cacheCleaningRules> tag.
  5. Under the tags <cleanFrequencyInDays>, <cleanFrequencyHours>, and <cleanFrequencyMinutes>, set how often you would like the cache to be cleared in days, hours, and minutes respectively.
  6. Save and close preview-server.xml file.
  7. Start the Zoom Preview Server service.

Set Clean Based on Based on Age

  1. Make sure that your Zoom Preview Server service is stopped.
  2. On the Zoom Servernavigate to
    OS Path Linux [ZoomDir]/conf Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM\conf\
  3. Open the preview-server.xml file.
    If this is a fresh install of Windows Server, it is recommended to use an alternative text editor such as Notepad++ for editing the text files. It makes reading the configuration files more legible.
  4. Navigate to the <cacheCleaningRules> tag.
  5. Under the tags <cleanFilesOlderBy> and <cleanOlderFilesTimeUnit>set the age and unit respectively.
    Default unit is DAYS. You can also use HOURS, MINUTES, etc.
  6. Save and close preview-server.xml file.
  7. Start the Zoom Preview Server service.

Set Clean Based on Size of Cache

  1. Make sure that your Zoom Preview Server service is stopped.
  2. On the Zoom Servernavigate to
    OS Path Linux [ZoomDir]/conf Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Evolphin\DAM\conf\
  3. Open the preview-server.xml file.
    If this is a fresh install of Windows Server, it is recommended to use an alternative text editor such as Notepad++ for editing the text files. It makes reading the configuration files more legible.
  4. Navigate to the <cacheCleaningRules> tag.
  5. Under the tag <maxAllowedCacheSizeInGB>, set the amount of GB that the cache will limit to.
    If the cache reaches this size, it will delete the oldest files first in order to stay within the size limits.
  6. Save and close preview-server.xml file.
  7. Start the Zoom Preview Server service.
